Annual General Meeting 10th June 2010

The League held their Annual General Meeting at the UK Paper Club in Sittingbourne on Thursday, 10th June.
 
Peter Hunter informed the Management Committee that he would not be standing for re-election to his position as Vice-Chairman. Peter has been an Officer of the League since 1972 and served as Referees Secretary, Fixture Secretary and Secretary and Chairman of the Western Section and as Vice-Chairman of the Management Committee since 1994. In recognition of this service to the League Peter was was elected as a Life Vice-President.
 
The League Treasurer, Alan Black, has also stood down from his position after seven years of looking after the League accounts. Alan has agreed to be available to advise the new treasurer during the next season.
 
The Chairman thanked both Peter and Alan for their service to the League
 
John Moules, a former Referees Secretary for the League was elected as Vice-Chairman and Stuart Clay was elected Treasurer.
 
Tenterden Town secured re-election to the league and new clubs AFC Aussie, Lesters Elite, North Kent Aces, Bexley and Hildenborough Athletic were all successful in seeking election to the league. In the Reserve Divisions Borden Village Reserves and Crockenhill Reserves were both re-elected and Sheerness East Reserves, Bexley Borough Reserves, Phoenix Sports Reserves and Sutton Athletic Reserves all joined the League.
 
The meeting was advised that the 2010-11 Annual Presentation Dinner/Cabaret will be held on 4th June.
 
Season playing dates were confirmed as follows:
 
Premier Division commences: 14th August 2010
 
All other divisions commence: 4th September 2010
 
Conclusion of Season: 7th May 2011

The outright winner of the FAIR PLAY TROPHY was University of Kent Reserves who received a cheque for £500 plus the Fair Play Trophy.

AFORD Awards Manager of the Year

 
Club Secretary of the Year Awards were presented in all divisions, the presentations being made by Peter Hunter. The overall winner was Willie Miller the long serving Secretary of Greenways FC who received the Doreen Johnson Memorial Shield, this presentation was made by Gus Johnson.
